Jill Martens is an "instant mom" as we call her. She married and immediately had two daughters. I joke that Jill is a better mom than me and I had to go through labor! Jill is the mom that always has everything on hand, from a twenty four pack of water in the trunk to a nail file in her “emergency bag” she does not leave home without. Jill has had the luxury of staying home with the girls and being a “working home mom.” We don’t say “stay at home mom” because all moms are working moms, right?

Jill and I became friends through our girls. With similar styles of parenting and an equal dislike for fast food, Jill and I were always sharing our “dinner time” issues. For Jill, it is soccer, piano, gymnastics, golf, basketball and volunteering at the school…and of course her awesome social planning skills. For me, Shelleen McHale, it is three kids and juggling working part time outside the home and part time inside the home, gymnastics, the endless basketball season, baseball, football, golf and a love of throwing parties.

Notice none of this is actually talking about our positions as wife either….

Jill and I started to talk about our true belief that dinner time should be an enjoyable, family friendly, healthy, meaningful time. Not a drive by (which we have named the drive thrus) or a dinner on the way out the door. Sounds all great and dandy…but how can we do it?

Over the last year and a half, Jill and I have tirelessly focused on providing creative family meals that meant not going through the drive bys if we could help it. (We are not going to lie, we do take the kids there occasionally, but not cause we have to…because they want to!) We want nothing more than to share our meals with other moms and help them bring their families back to the table.

We are now offering any mom (and this works for everyone, not just moms) the opportunity to get a grocery list emailed with all the recipes for the week. Knowing full well that you are an on the move constantly and you need simple, quick meals. There will be no weird spices and we even take into consideration the fact that you probably have a picky eater! I know I do!

We hope we are able to get your family back to the table and saying thanks to God!

Enjoy-
